The main purpose of grub screws, a kind of fastener, is to firmly attach two components. Grub screws are made to be used without nuts, yet they work similarly to bolts in that they thread into both parts and offer a tight, secure fit. Grub screws are frequently used in mechanical systems where two or more metal surfaces press directly together as well as in architectural metalwork. Grub screws are different from conventional bolts and screws in that they don't need a nut to hold them in place and feature a threaded shaft that extends to the top without a projecting head.
