Alpha Onsite Plus impact-rated step tip drill bit set, 16 piece metric, 4.0mm to 13.0mm, in a hard case. Fully ground M2 HSS, black and amber finish, 135° split point and 1/4in hex quick-change shank to suit impact drivers and cordless drills. Set contains 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, 9.5, 10.0, 12.0 and 13.0mm (two 6.0mm bits). Max cut depth 3xD. For onsite drilling in steel, stainless steel, wood and plastic.
The step tip design starts the hole without a pilot, reduces heat build-up and stays sharper for longer, cutting round, accurate holes without burring. The 135° split point reduces wandering, and the hex shank runs in an impact driver with no jamming or binding. Alpha's testing against a benchmark HSS jobber drill in a cordless drill had the Onsite Plus step tip drilling 6x faster: three clean holes in 21.83 seconds against 2.5 holes in 1 minute 46 seconds before the jobber burnt out.
